Our story

Care Rooted in Heart

Life of Heart Care was founded on a simple belief: every adult with a disability deserves support that sees them as a whole person — not a diagnosis, not a case number, but a human being with dreams, strengths, and a life worth living fully.

The Life of Heart Care team together

Our Mission

To walk alongside adults with disabilities in the Washington DC area — offering compassionate therapy, life skills support, and community connection that honors each person's dignity, autonomy, and potential.

Our Vision

A Washington DC community where every adult with a disability has access to the support they need to live independently, connect meaningfully, and thrive on their own terms.

What We Stand For

Dignity first

Every person we serve is treated with unconditional respect. We listen before we act, and we never assume.

Person-centered always

Your goals guide everything. We build support plans around your life — not the other way around.

Strength-based thinking

We focus on what you can do, what you want to do, and how we can help you get there.

Community and belonging

We believe connection is a human right. Our work is rooted in helping people find their place in the world.

Continuous learning

Disability support is always evolving. We stay current, seek feedback, and grow alongside the people we serve.

Family as partners

Families and caregivers are essential. We work with them — not around them — to build lasting support.

Our team brings together licensed clinicians, certified support specialists, and community advocates — all united by a shared commitment to compassionate, disability-affirming care.
